About us
Fair Trade means that the artisan has been paid a fair and living wage and they work in safe and clean workplaces. Dignity and respect along with job creation are a central theme in fair trade and the ability to make a living wage is key to empowering artisans who want to improve not only their lives but the lives of their families.
Many of the artisans are survivors of human trafficking and they are working to ensure they will never be trafficked again. People are not for sale. Through education and job training these survivors can learn new skills and teach their children and family these same skills so the cycle of poverty can be broken.
Every purchase of fair trade goods is providing a steady income to an artisan. That income can mean a child can go to school, a family can move out of the slums, a daughter does not have to sell herself so she or her family can eat, and a family history can be changed for the better.
Jesus calls us to love our neighbor. Who is our neighbor? Everyone.
